Tim Hortons restaurant chain launches loyalty program in US

Tim Hortons, the quick-service restaurant chain founded by the iconic NHL star of the same name, announced the launch of its new Tims Rewards loyalty program in the U.S.

Seven is the lucky number under the new rewards program, as customers will get a free cup of hot brewed coffee, hot tea or baked goods, after every seventh store visit. The free offer excludes Timbits and bagels.

“Our guests deserve a rewards program as a thank you for their loyalty,” Shawn Thompson, president, Tim Hortons U.S. said in the announcement. “We’re offering both a reusable card and a digital-friendly card on the Tim Hortons app, so that it’s extremely easy for our guests to use over and over again.”

The program provides three ways to track your purchases. Customers can get a reusable loyalty card at any Tim Hortons restaurant in the U.S. or download the Tims Rewards app to their digital wallet on their iPhone or Android device.

The third option involves downloading the Tim Hortons mobile app, which allows users to track their status, track rewards and offers direct mobile food and drink orders.

The chain plans to unveil personalized mobile offers and discounts over the coming months as well. The chain has more than 4,800 locations in Canada, the U.S. and overseas.

For a limited time the chain is offering a free reward to guests who register their cards at the chain’s website when they also make a purchase of $1.50 or greater before April 30.
