Chase has said it will double the cash back offer for new Chase Unlimited Freedom members from 1.5% to 3% on up to $20,000 in purchases during the first year.
The special offer will add up to as much as $600 cash back, with 1.5% back on purchases over the $20,000 mark.
“Freedom Unlimited’s 3% cash back offer provides new cardmembers with the opportunity to make the most of their everyday spending and keep them ‘always earning,'” Chase Unlimited General Manager B.J. Mahoney said in the announcement.
Cardmembers will be able to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards for travel, gift cards, shopping for Apple products or shopping on Amazon. A spokesperson for the bank said in a telephone interview with Mobile Payments Today that the new cashback offer has nothing to do with the recent Apple credit card announcement, which included a cash back offer for cardholders.
She pointed to the bank’s previously announced membership campaign for Chase Unlimited Freedom featuring comedian Kevin Hart.
